The Open Studio allows you to rent a sewing machine and to get access to our studio and all of it's tools by the hour. For those who do not have a sewing machine at home, need to use a serger, a good iron or a proper sewing space, this is your chance to work on your own projects in a pretty and comfy sewing studio or to make one of the numerous projects we have to offer! Josée will be there to give you advises on fabrics and will be around to help you when you come to work on your projects. Visit us to meet her. She has only one desire: to share her love for sewing and fabrics with you :)

Reservation is mandatory
Price: 20$ per person for 2 hours, taxes included
Minimum of 2 hours
10$ for each extra hour, taxes included
10$ for 30 minutes of extra assistance and guidance
5 people in the studio maximum

By booking time at the Open Studio, you will have full access to the workshop! Thus, you can use our sewing machines (domestic machine and serger), cut your projects on the cutting table, use our patterns, sewing books, scissors, rulers and other tools. We will also have threads at your disposal :) However, fabrics and other supplies needed for your project are not included. You will need to bring your materials, or purchase what you need at la Fabrique éthique, if available, for an extra fee.
IMPORTANT: Even if a teacher will be there with you, this is not a sewing class. This is the opportunity for you to work in a pleasant sewing studio, while spending time with us, while we are also working on our own projects :) You will have access to the space, our tools and our sewing patterns... but you will have to be a bit autonomous. If you need a few advices while working on your project, we will have to ask an extra fee of 15$ per 30 minutes of assistance. If you need constant support, we strongly advise you to book a spot in one of our group classes, pay-per-class lesson or a private lesson.***

You would like to work on a project in the open studio and rent a sewing machine but you are not quite autonomous. You would like to have the opportunity to ask questions to a resourceful person from time to time. Whether it is to receive explanations on one of our monthly projects, your own projects or get an express training before using a sewing machine or an overlock, we will be there to assist you!
Taking your complete measurements

Take your complete list of measurements home with you!

To make clothes that fit, you must first know your exact measurements ... and it is very difficult to measure your back length alone! We therefore offer the ''Taking your complete measurements'' service to those who have reserved access to studio. You can view the list of measurements that we will be taking right HERE! Do not forget to dress in very tight clothing (leggings and tight top) if you want accurate measurements :)

Learn to Use a Sewing Machine

Introduction to the sewing machine

Appointment is mandatory, group of 5 people maximum
Price: $30 taxes included

A condensed training lasting one hour to enable you to thread a sewing machine, understand its basic settings, how to place your hands and practice on fabric scraps. You will practice on the open studio machines.
