Sewing Class For Beginners :)
Level: Really beginner...I don't know how a sewing machine works...or I don't remember !
Objectives: (Re)discover the world of sewing, the vocabulary, the tools, the basic techniques. How to work with an existing sewing pattern to make a personal project.
Duration: 5 lessons / 3 hours per lesson / 1 lesson per week / total of 15 hours
Materials: You will have access to one of our sewing machines, our tools, our patterns and tutorials so no need to bring anything! However, you may have to go shopping to buy the fabric needed to make your personal project.
Welcome Gift: Access to the ''Open Studio'' and our sewing machines for a period of 2 hours.

On the menu: This sewing course will allow you to learn how a sewing machine works and will give you the basic skills to start creating your own projects! During the first class, you will make a small pouch with a zipper. Starting on the second class, you will be able to start working on a personal project which we will select together. You will learn how to use a sewing pattern and we will introduce you to basic techniques to better adjust a garment. The rest of the session will be entirely devoted to transferring your pattern, cutting your fabric and sewing your personal project!

Level : I know how to thread and use a sewing machine. I know how to sew a little : I have graduated from the course Learn To Sew or made at least a few projects by myself.
Objectives : Gain in autonomy in order to be able to adjust or give a second life to my beloved clothes... for the good of the planet and my wallet ;)
Duration : 5 lessons / 3 hours per lesson / 1 lesson per week / total of 15 hours.
Materials : You will have access to one of our sewing machines, our tutorial and our tools. We will provide the fabric and supplies for the exercises. However, you will need to bring an old t-shirt for certain exercises as well as pieces of clothe to repair or adjust. You might have to purchase the necessary materials, if necessary.

On the menu : A course entirely dedicated to learning how to repair holes, shorten, lengthen, taper or enlarge your clothes using a domestic sewing machine. The first three lessons are devoted to making exercices on samples which will allow you to get acquainted with the most common repair and retouching techniques. Afterwards, we will apply this new knowledge to fixing your own clothes!

Following this course, you will be able to choose the right finishes for the type of fabric and project you are working on, make your own decisions and therefore be less dependent on the instruction booklet. Objectives : Learning the right techniques to add style to your project with pockets, elastics and collar. Creating a sample book to which I can refer following the course.

Materials : You will have access to one of our sewing machines, our tutorial and our tools. We will provide pre-cut fabrics for all your samples, as well as notions if needed.

Whether you want to adjust the pattern for your next creation, make a unique garment or an accessory, repair or remodel a piece of clothes you care about, we will be happy to help you to learn the necessary sewing techniques and pattern making skills that will enable you to the realize your project.

Introduction to the Overlock Machine (French Only)

A 6 hours workshop that will allow you to familiarize yourself and understand how to operate an overlock machine. You will learn how to thread the machine, adjust the tension of the threads, as well as the different stitches that can be done with this beautiful machine :) We will also show you a few sewing techniques to achieve better results on your projects. We will show you how to create pretty corners and nice curves.
Duration: 6 hours (including 30 minutes for lunch)
Materials: Tutorial, fabrics and trims included. You will have access to one of our overlock, but you can bring your own machine.
Price: $100 taxes included

Flexible ''À la Carte'' Sewing Lessons and Make Up Classes
Pay-per-Class lessons allow our students and students that have basic sewing skills to join an existing group for the duration of a lesson (3 hours) when the group is not full (maximum 5 students). Here is the opportunity to spend time with other students, according to your schedule and needs, while benefiting from the expertise and attentive support of a teacher!
