Learn to Sew / English only

This sewing course will allow you to understand how a machine works so you can start creating your own projects! Our very first project will be making a small pouch with a zipper! On the second class, we will start working on a personal project which we will select together. We will show you how a sewing pattern works and go over the fundamentals of pattern adjustments. The remaining classes will be dedicated to transferring your pattern, cutting your fabric and sewing your project! The objectives of this course are to enable you to learn the basic vocabulary, sewing techniques and pattern fundamentals you need to become a bit more autonomous... It will be a pleasure for us to assist you in the discovery of the wonderful world of sewing!
Level: Absolute Beginner
Duration: 15 hours / 3h per class/ 1 class per week / total of 5 classes
Tools and Materials:
You will have access to all the tools we have at the studio during classes. No need to bring anything!
Tutorial '' Learn to Sew '', fabrics and accessories included. We have many fabrics available but you might have to buy your own fabric in order to make your personal project if you can't find anything you like at the studio.

B- Repair and Adjust Your Clothes / English Only
Saturdays, from 9:30am to 12:30pm, from October 7th to November 4th with Tauts A course entirely dedicated to showing you how to repair holes, shorten, lengthen, taper or enlarge your clothes using a sewing machine. We will start by making several samples so that you can master the most common techniques. Afterwards, we will apply this new knowledge to fixing your own clothes! This course aims to allow you to gain autonomy and give a second life to your beloved clothes… for the good of the planet and your wallet ;) |
Level: Really beginner or I know how to sew...
Duration: 15 hours / 3 hours per lesson / 1 lesson per week / total of 5 lessons
Materials: You will have access to one of our sewing machines and tools. We will provide fabric and supplies for your samples. However, you will have to bring clothes to repair or modify! We will also provide a tutorial to which you will be able to refer after the course.
Price: $275 taxes included
On the menu:
Lesson 1: Basic Theory and Repairing holes
Round table and presentation of the 5 items of clothing you brought. This will be the opportunity to give you some advice! We will explain the different indicators to consider when choosing a garment (quality, durability, tailoring, fabric behaviour, cut, etc.), assess the level of complexity and feasibility of the adjustments or repairs you wish to make.
Exercises on samples (darning on a sewing machine, apply patches, repair holes by hand, how to rip effectively).
Lesson 2: Lengthen & shorten
Learn the different techniques for shortening and lengthening clothes and take measurements correctly. Exercises on samples (hemming jeans, T-shirts, invisible hems and adding stretch cuffs).
Lesson 3: Taper and Enlarge
We'll show you how to make a garment smaller and bigger using existing features. When to look for seam allowances, how and where to add fabric to make it look like it was part of the original design ;)
Exercises on samples (adding darts, letting out seams, and cinching pants without having to reinvent everything).
Lessons 4 & 5: Open projects
It's time to repair and fix your own clothes and cover more theory! We will help you to select the repairs and modifications that will allow you to put your new knowledge into practice and save your clothes!
Duration: 15 hours / 3 hours per lesson / 1 lesson per week / total of 5 lessons

Making a Sample Book / English only
Mondays, from 1pm to 4pm, October 2nd to the 30th with Tauts Sundays, from 1pm to 4pm, October 8th to November 5th with Tauts The purpose of this technical sewing course is to allow you to create a reference book that you can use after the course. You will make several samples and learn several techniques, tips and finishes that will allow you to better succeed in your projects. Following this course, you will be able to choose the right type of finishes for the fabric and project you are working on, to make your own decisions and therefore be less dependent on the instructions. In our opinion, this course is the ideal option after graduating from an introductory sewing course because it will allow you to become more independent and creative. |
Level: I know how to thread and operate a sewing machine. I made at least one project and want to make a sample book that I can refer to following the course. I want to learn the right techniques because it's going to allow mw to save time and get better results.

Sewing course in small groups (maximum 5 persons) for people who already have sewing experience. Learn to make clothes and accessories that fit your measurements and needs, tweak the style to your liking, learn new sewing techniques... or repair existing clothes :) It will be our pleasure to teach the sewing and pattern techniques that will enable you to transform your sewing projects into reality, whatever they are!

Flexible ''À la Carte'' Sewing Lessons and Make Up Classes

Pay-per-Class lessons allow our students and students that have basic sewing skills to join an existing group for the duration of a lesson (3 hours) when the group is not full (maximum 5 students). Here is the opportunity to spend time with other students, according to your schedule and needs, while benefiting from the expertise and attentive support of a teacher!
