The content of this course is a condensed and simplified version of the teachings given in Fashion Design programs, but tailored to the needs of our students who seek to explore the wonderful world of design for themselves, for the fun of it. Suggestion of Basic Garments to Copy for the Introduction to Pattern Drafting Course
Please note that your basic garment (the one we will be copying) must have the least possible style detail; meaning no yokes, pleats or gathers. It should ideally have darts (unless you want to develop your own styles from stretchy clothes, like a sweater :) The garment should already have a fit that you like. Being an introductory course, blouses, coats, jackets and vests and are not good options for this level. We will be happy to guide you with those once you have graduated from level 1 :)

Here are the main flat cutting techniques you will be learning during the course
(and some examples of the possibilities they offer you) Our pedagogical approach in this course will focus on understanding the basic techniques of flat cutting. We show you images to explain the possibilities, but will not be able to make the development plan for the 55 styles shown above for lack of time. By learning the techniques, you can easily repeat it on different garments once made at home thanks to your class notes :)
